Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Scruggs served as principle owner of a boutique brokerage firm based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he represented business owners, retailers and investors in retail transactions. Previously,he served as an associate at NAI Nashville (now Colliers International) where he assisted owners and investors in acquisition,disposition and leasing of retail properties in the Southeast. Scruggs career highlights includes representing the city of Nashville in the acquisition of land assembled for the billion – dollar Music City Convention Center in downtown. Active in the commercial real estate industry, Scruggs is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) where he served as co-chair of the Alliance program. He holds the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the Commercial Real Estate Institute. Scruggs also is a member of Real Estate Investment Securities Association (REISA) where he holds FINRA Series 22 and 63 licenses and provides clients access to co-ownership opportunities in institutional grade properties across the country.
